Over the hill on Xbox Series X|S: 2027 release plans
Xbox Series X|S is announced for 2027; no exact day or final regional price is confirmed here. If you only play on this device, wait for that edition’s official purchase conditions before paying.
Quick guide
Console announcement status · reviewed October 15, 2026.
- Use the Xbox Series X|S announcement, not the October 2026 Steam launch date.
- Xbox One is not a confirmed substitute.
- Check the actual regional purchase option, price and online requirements before paying.
Use the Xbox listing for the Xbox edition
Xbox Series X|S is announced for 2027. The official listing also names PC, Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox cloud saves. Read these as Xbox/Microsoft ecosystem features; they do not make your Steam purchase an Xbox licence.
The listing advertises online co-op for two to four and says console online multiplayer needs a separate eligible subscription. It names Game Pass Core or Ultimate in the reviewed text. That membership condition is not a promise that the game is included in the Game Pass catalogue.
Before you commit to this edition
Confirm the device named by the product, your store region and whether the button is a wishlist or an actual purchase. Read online co-op conditions if you plan to play with friends. A crossplay plan alone does not supply a released platform-pair matrix or a Steam save-transfer procedure.
