Reveal the map from a cabin

Cabins are checkpoints with supply restoration, fast travel and resting. Build your first route around a cabin so you can return without needing to improvise a long recovery.

  1. Drive to a cabin and complete its discovery interaction.
  2. Open the map. Inspect the surrounding area that has become visible and the nearby points of interest.
  3. Choose one objective within that area, then identify the track or gentle slope leading toward it.

Plan the approach and the way back

Before a steep climb, rotate the camera to inspect both the approach and landing. Our route advice is to prefer a longer gentle line when the direct route has a sharp crest or side slope. A marker gives you a destination; the straight line to it may cross ground your vehicle cannot handle.

If water blocks the line, inspect the exit bank before entering. If the exit is too steep or no recovery target is visible, return to the previous track and choose another crossing. Plan this while the vehicle is still on stable ground.

Move between regions without losing your return point

At an area passage, follow its displayed direction, enter the next area and discover a cabin before attempting a remote objective. Emerald Lake is the opening area shown in the release tutorial; do not plan a return around an undiscovered cabin.

For the Niva target, go to Gimli Ridge and look for Elvis Ridge in the upper portion of its map. Follow the unlock guide for the challenge and its completion check.

Return when a route becomes impractical

Check that you are back at the intended cabin before choosing a new objective.

  1. Stop repeating the same approach once the vehicle is wedged or the climb cannot be cleared.
  2. Open the map and select an already discovered cabin for respawn.
  3. Inspect the alternative line or visit the mechanic before leaving again.
