Over the hill on Nintendo Switch 2: 2027 release plans
Nintendo Switch 2 is announced for 2027; no exact day or final regional price is confirmed here. If you only play on this device, wait for that edition’s official purchase conditions before paying.
Quick guide
Console announcement status · reviewed October 15, 2026.
- Use the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement, not the October 2026 Steam launch date.
- Nintendo Switch is not a confirmed substitute.
- Check the actual regional purchase option, price and online requirements before paying.
Choose Switch 2, then wait for its store terms
The announced Nintendo version is for Switch 2 in 2027. The original Switch is not in that announcement. Do not buy hardware or a product code on the assumption that “Switch” without the 2 is confirmed.
A working game-specific Nintendo purchase listing was not verified. Use the developer’s announcement for the platform decision; when the regional eShop product appears, check that it names over the hill, Funselektor and Switch 2 before buying.
Before you commit to this edition
Confirm the device named by the product, your store region and whether the button is a wishlist or an actual purchase. Read online co-op conditions if you plan to play with friends. A crossplay plan alone does not supply a released platform-pair matrix or a Steam save-transfer procedure.
