Over the hill multiplayer: join friends and finish together

Ask the host for the room name and region, then use Multiplayer → Server Browser to join that room. If the host shares a session code, use Join by Code instead. Confirm that everyone is in the same session before leaving the cabin.

Quick guide

Steam release · up to four players total. English menu labels below; follow localised prompts on your device.

  1. Get the room name and server region, or ask for the session code.
  2. Open Multiplayer → Server Browser, select the region and room; use Join by Code for a code.
  3. Join and check that the other drivers are present before leaving.
  4. Each driver reaches their own checkpoint; wait for the last completion before continuing.

Join a room or use a session code

Use the room name and region when browsing public rooms. A private room needs the host’s session code; switching between random regions will not replace that code.

  1. For a room name: Multiplayer → Server Browser → the host’s Server Region → select the named room.
  2. For a code: Multiplayer → Join by Code → Insert Session Code. Enter the host’s current session code and join.
  3. In the lobby, use the displayed start/join prompt. The Windows keyboard guide shows Enter; use the prompt for your own device. Check that you can see the other drivers in the session.

Keep everyone on the same objective

Online co-op supports up to four players total. The developer FAQ says progression is individual and can continue between solo and multiplayer.

  1. Agree on one nearby destination and a discovered cabin to return to. Wait for the group before leaving.
  2. Drive every player through their own checkpoint. Another vehicle reaching it does not complete it for everyone.
  3. Check your own completion display and wait for the final driver before moving to the next objective.

Help a stuck driver without stranding both vehicles

If recovery has no safe exit, use a discovered cabin as the fallback. The video below covers recovery judgement, not the lobby interface.

  1. Park the helper on stable ground with room to remain upright.
  2. Choose a pull direction that brings the stranded vehicle onto reachable ground. Change the angle if the body remains wedged.
  3. After recovery, let both drivers settle on firm ground before resuming the objective.
